Tree of Life - Jou ma se Kombuis

A place where strangers become friends and friends become family

We believe in a Manenberg where businesses are thriving & impacting the local economy

The Kombuis team’s present focus is to establish a profitable business in the form of a coffee shop and catering service in Manenberg. The dream is a sustainable enterprise that can support the development, training and employment of local young people and sow into the other Tree of Life ministries.

The coffee shop culture is new for Manenberg so we are slowly introducing espresso based coffee by doing tasters and sales on the streets and in-house. Obviously, we love to share our passion for good coffee and food, but more than that, our hope is a shift in the perception that the only social interaction possible in Manenberg must include alcohol or drugs. We would love to see this community find new ways to be together.

What are our services?

The coffee shop

An inviting space with a relaxed atmosphere. It’s for the passerby who just wants a quick coffee or favourite muffin. Its for the person who has time to spare for a lekker toasted sandwich or a full-on breakfast, with a variety of freshly baked cakes, cookies and more to choose from.

It’s for the person who needs a place to relax, a place to be, a place away from all the madness that’s happening in Manenberg or where ever home is.

The catering

Birthday parties, weddings, tourist groups and corporate functions, you name it, we’ll be there. We cater buffets, plated meals, braais, and platters.

Pop-up coffee

We have recently gone mobile with our coffee machine popping up anywhere in Manenberg with a plug point for us! Do you have an event and would love to to have delicious coffee served with a smile, and supporting some local initiatives? Then get in touch.
