Tree of Life are looking for a part-time Operations Team Leader to oversee the administrative team, and liaise between Core Team and the staff teams.

Position details: 25 hours per week in Manenberg office

Job purpose/mandate: to oversee and facilitate the operations of the organisation

 

Purpose of the role within the organisation:

This position oversees the operations of the organisation, including Basila, Cru62 and the finance team. The role is to bridge the on-the-ground running with strategic plans, keeping us on track with budgets and finding ways to develop systems to work most efficiently.

Specific duties and responsibilities

  • Manage finance team and bookkeeping (Xero)
  • Budgets and planning
  • Liaison with HR officer
  • Donor management and fundraising
  • Staff training and development
  • Events management
  • Communications

Job Requirements and experience

  • 5 years plus experience in administrative and financial management (specifically bookkeeping software, Xero preferable)
  • Computer proficient – bookkeeping software, donor management platforms, excel etc
  • Both English and Afrikaans preferable
  • Matric or higher
  • Bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Donor management and fundraising experience
  • Project management and events – co-ordination and budgeting
  • Operational admin
  • Experience of team management

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good written and spoken communications – for donors, social media, newsletters etc
  • Strong team player – leading team and upskilling where necessary
  • Innovation – develop more efficient operational systems
  • Has led a team before
